World Cup Match Preview: Algeria vs. Russia (Group F)

World Cup Match Preview: Algeria vs. Russia (Group F)

Match Date: 26 June 2014 (local time)

Venue: Curitiba

Algeria’s surprise victory over South Korea catapulted the tea into the second spot of the table. Considered as the tournament’s minnow, the Dessert Foxes are keen on attacking the Russian contingent in a courageous attempt to advance into the competition’s next stage.

What happened?

Algeria

Algeria’s first match in the tournament ended in a disappointing loss to Belgium. The team had the lead, but a determined Belgium snatched the victory. However, their disappointing spell was finally put to an end.

In its second match, Algeria thrashed South Korea with four (4) massive goals. A change in the team’s starting XI made a huge difference and suddenly, they are ahead of more popular groups such as Russia and South Korea.

Russia

Fabio Capello and his men started the tournament with an even steven finish. Unfortunately, their encounter with the Belgian squad ended in their defeat. Although pitted as one of the heavy favorites of world cup betting tips  in the group, Russia found itself in a very compromising situation.

With just a point under its belt, Russia needs to beat Algeria or they will be forced to pack their bags.

Prediction

Russia remains as the top pick of the match. But this does not guarantee that they will easily advance to the next stage. With Algeria’s renewed confidence, the team is keen on getting the three (3) points, or at the very least, force a draw.
