Suarez, On The Verge Of Recovery As World Cup Worries Loom

Eleven (11) days after his knee surgery, Luis Suarez bolstered Uruguay’s hopes of seeing him play in the 2014 World Cup when he visited the squad’s training camp.

According to reports, his wife, Sofia dropped him to the training area. However, there is no indication that the talismanic striker had already participated in the squad’s activities.

Suarez is one of those players who are in the “race” of getting fit and feature during the world cup matches. The recently crowned Player Of the Year in the English Premier League suffered a knee injury during training, which required a minor injury. He will need at least fifteen (15) days before he can join the squad’s training.

Alberto Pan, La Celeste’s mainstay doctor disclosed that Suarez’s condition is monitored daily. He added that they are “on track to recovery” and everything they have expected falls perfectly to what has been planned.” Pan also mentioned that the Liverpool poacher does not feel any pain while performing muscle strengthening exercises.

Meanwhile, Diego Forlan, one of Suarez’s renowned teammates, is positive that the star player will not miss the World Cup. Forlan described him to be “ in good spirits” as he recovers from the frightening injury.

On the other hand, if an unfortunate event prevents Suarez from representing Uruguay, the squad’s supporters have nothing to worry as the team is blessed to have a pool of reliable players, who can deliver. Aside from Forlan, there is also Edinson Cavani, who is expected to feature after a lackluster season at Paris Saint Germain.
