Paraguay Suffers Third Straight Defeats From Bolivia

Match Date: 06 September 2013 (local time)

Venue: Asuncion

While online bookies point to Bolivia as heavy favorites against Paraguay, La Verde is confident that it will destroy Paraguay for the third time.

Paraguay

Víctor Genes has tons of work to do in order to assemble and help Los Guaraníes book a spot in the Maracana.
Currently, the squad sits at the bottom of the South American qualifying table. With less than a year to prepare, it is a big question how the team will fare throughout the qualifiers. Unless they win all of their matches, there is a possibility for them to continue in the tournament. And perhaps, the only problem they have to settle is aggregate scoring.

Los Guaraníes’ current form is far from being impressive. Out of the 12 matches they participated, they have only won twice. Eight (8) of them ended in defeat. The other two resulted in a draw.

Bolivia

La Verde’s performance is slightly better than Los Guaraníes. Along with Paraguay, Bolivia is also at the bottom of the rankings. Nevertheless, it managed to have a better score.

From the 13 matches that it participated, it won and drew twice. The other 7 matches resulted to a grave loss. Well at least, the squad managed to collect a total of 10 points.

Rooting for Bolivia

The upcoming match foresees Bolivia getting the upper-hand. Throughout the preliminaries, Paraguay never won against them.

Their initial clash saw La Verde scored 3 goals, whilst Los Guaraníes have only managed to score once.

Bolivia’s winning spell continued in their next encounter. This time, La Verde kept a clean sheet and Cristian Riveros late rally on the 81st, scored the winning goal.

It is important to note that the above-mentioned wins are the the only victories that La Verde has collected throughout the qualifiers.

For the third time, the two squads shall meet. With Bolivia’s familiarity of Paraguay’s playing style, there is no doubt that they will—again, emerge as the victorious squad.
