Leg Injury Cancelled Hernandez’s World Cup Spot

Leg Injury Cancelled Hernandez’s World Cup Spot

A stingy leg muscle injury discarded Pablo Hernandez’s hopes of making into Chile’s 2014 World Cup squad. He joins Matias Fernandez, Paulo Garces, Esteban Parades, Gustavo Canales and Enzo Andia in the list of players who did not make it to the final cut.

In a statement announced by the Chilean FA, the organization shared that Hernandez is already “released” from the team. This was after the midfielder was unable to recover from the above-mentioned injury.

Hernandez currently plays for O’Higgins. He was initially used as a replacement for Juan Rodrigo Rojas. During his stay, he scored a total of seven (7) goals in eighteen (18) matches. Included in his total goals was the one against Universidad Catolica, which enabled O’Higgins to win the final. The victory also propelled Hernandez’s career to stellar heights.

In as far as his international career is concerned, Hernandez also scored important points for La Roja. The midfielder netted two (2) goals against Costa Rica.

With twenty-four (24) men left within Chile’s provisional squad, Jorge Sampaoli needs to drop another member to complete the final list prior to 02 June 2014.

After dropping out of the World Cup qualifiers in 2006, Chile has shown a remarkable improvement that resulted in its 2010 and 2014 qualification. Likewise, this also made the squad one of World Cup bettingfavorites in terms of scoring the most number of goals. In 12BET for one, Chile is pitted at a profitable value of 9.50, as one of the highest scoring teams in the said competition.
