Demichelis Cuts Ponytail To Celebrate His World Cup Inclusion

Demichelis Cuts Ponytail To Celebrate His World Cup Inclusion

Manchester City’s defender, Martin Demichelis had a unique way of celebrating his inclusion in the 2014 World Cup when he chopped off his ponytail. The ponytail has been his famous trademark.

Shortly after being recalled into the final line-up, Demichelis sported his new looks, much to the surprise of many, including those who wrote a song for his preferred hairstyle.

Criticisms and controversies haunt Demichelis’ inclusion, while Juventus’ top scorer, Carlos Tevez was left out. Demichelis struggled at the start of his season at City. The defender literally failed to impress. However, it was his perfect form during the season’s last leg and invaluable contributions to the club’s victory that earned him the spot within the Argentine contingent.

Sergio Aguero, who is also Demichelis’ teammate in City explained that his compatriot readily earned the honor and privilege of representing his country in the 2014 World Cup.

He (Aguero) added that Demichelis’ shortcomings during the start of the season were readily understandable since the man needed to adjust. Yet, shortly after settling in, the former Atletico Madrid player proved all of his detractors wrong as he began to show off his spectacles on the pitch.

Argentina is one of the strongest contenders in the upcoming competition and looks forward to its 3rd trophy. It is a certified heavy favorite next to Brazil with outright world cup odds valued at 5.30.

Grouped against Iran, Nigeria and Bosnia Herzegovina, it is the squad that is expected to the latter stages of the 2014 World Cup.
