Colombia Waits For Falcao Before Sending Final List

Colombia’s football head honcho, Jose Pekerman stressed that he is willing to “wait until the last minute,” before he decides to include Radamel Falcao’s name into the list of his 23-man World Cup squad.

Pekerman has less than two (2) weeks left before he submits his final list on 02 June 2014. Nevertheless, he explained that he has no problem with waiting “until the last day, last hour and last minute,” if that is what it takes to determine Falcao’s possibility of joining the squad in Brazil.

Popularly known as “El Tigre,” Falcao is one of the most notable football strikers in the world. He is the very first player to score a hat trick in a UEFA Super Cup competition and is often recognized for his superb headers. Despite the limited chances that he encounters in the pitch, the Colombian star is able to score impressive goals, much to the disappointments of his assigned defenders.

During the recently concluded qualifiers, Falcao is one of the key figures along with Carlos Bacca, Jackson Martinez and James Rodriguez, to name a few, which helped the Los Cafeteros finished on top of its group.

Unfortunately, an encounter against Monts Or Azergues in Coup de France left the striker with a serious anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) damage. Falcao was immediately hospitalized and went through a surgery to address the said injury.

Recently, Falcao joined the Colombian contingent  for training in Argentina. However, this does not confirm if the celebrated striker is ready to participate in the renowned football tournament.

Grouped with Ivory Coast, Greece and Japan, Colombia stands as the group’s heavy favorite. World Cup betting odds in 12BET tip them as Group C winners with values pegged at 1.23.
