Algeria Hopes To Impress In Brazil

Algeria Hopes To Impress In Brazil

Sporting a new manager, new tactics and a legion of young and fresh legs, Algeria is determined to secure a stronger finish and make spectators forget their lackluster performance last 2010.

Algeria secured its second world cup berth by the virtue of away goals. Its narrow victory against Burikina Faso ensured that they will be the first Arab country that will participate in the said competition twice. With their success, the squad’s journey can be fairly described as one of World Cup’s exciting surprises.

Fondly called as the Fennec Foxes, Vahid Halilhodžić spearheads the squad. He is the mastermind, the architect, the engineer of what transpired behind every match. Although known for being demanding, he nonetheless, delivers the needed results. And perhaps, one of the biggest (shocks) that he made in this competition is fielding fresh and inexperience legs in the biggest footballing tournament across the globe. It was never an easy decision considering that they are campaigning for a stronger finish. But Coach Vahid stands firm on his decision.

Pragmatic and practical, he is confident that the current squad will be more effective, considering the impressive performances that these players have shown during the qualifiers. And with the results in their friendlies against Armenia and Romania, it looks like Algeria will go far in this competition.

According to Coach Vahid, the squad had enough preparation for their upcoming world cup matches. He added that although they have a “difficult mission” ahead of them, they are “optimistic” that they will perform better than what they did before.
