Colombia’s aggressive attack might suffer against Greece’s excellent defense, or vice versa. These teams may not be the easily picked as top favorites among all squads, but the stream of talents they have will make them potential dark horses.

Colombia, a massive football massif of athleticism and power, will prominently figure in Group C. Players like Radamel Falcao, the key linchpin of the French club AS Monaco, are sure to bulk up their individual capabilities to produce the best attack ever for a Colombian ensemble. Their defense, however, may have some issues to deal with. Jose Pekerman’s side have an excellent thunderstorm of attacks but they fall short in a reliable center-back. Their opponents might capitalize on this weakness, which will inevitably force Los Cafeteros to focus on outscoring the opposition instead of keeping them at bay.

Greece are resilient and determined, as in their past World Cup campaigns. However, this year is particularly thrilling for the side as they added one crucial trait in their form: an excellent forward. Konstantinos Mitroglou flaunt prowess on an outstanding scoring ability, not just for local club Olympiakos but also for the larger Ethniki. The side’s defense and goalkeeping mechanisms have also improved tremendously. In the UEFA qualifications alone, they were among the best teams to concede the fewest goals. They were only stolen of six goals but scored 16—seven out of their nine victories were clean sheets!

World Cup betting tip: Colombia and Greece should look forward to a thrilling draw in the curtain raiser.
