This match will determine which side will emerge on top of the group. Netherlands and Chile have already received berth in the Round of 16 after completing their first two matches with resounding successes. It must be noted that both squads were able to thump defending champions [no more], Spain.

Netherlands

While Arjen Robben and Robin van Persie may be credited as Netherland’s best players right now following the excellentgoals against Spain and Australia, it was Memphis Depay who secured the country’s seeding in the next stage of the tournament. Robben and Persie both scored one goal apiece in their fixture against the Socceroos, who also netted the same number of goals. Depay’s 68th minute goal broke the deadlock and assured the Dutch side of another three points to rank on top of the group table based on two matches.

Chile

Santiago and all other cities in Chile turned blissfully riotous following the clean sheet thrashing of Spain in their second match for the group stage. The victory was considered historic since of the sides’ past several matches have been won by the South American team. In their last seven meetings since 1950, Spain have always ended up as the top dogs (except for one occasion in 2013 when the rivals shared the points). The win broke the streak and Chile should now look forward to a thrilling berth in the knockout stage. Aranguiz came on top of the pack, having netted the second and last goal of the fixture and helped Vargas deliver the opener.

World Cup betting tip: The Netherlands will narrowly defeat Chile.
