Neither Greece nor Ivory Coast were able to produce striking results in their last matches in the World Cup. Greece held japan in a draw but failed to produce a goal. Meanwhile, Ivory Coast pulled off a second-half stunner but was not enough to deny Colombia from earning all three points.

Greece played out a goalless draw against Japan at the Arenas das Dunas last week, putting them at the bottom of the table following a defeat in their curtain raiser. The much hyped defense of the side did not translate well in their World Cup performances. They conceded three goals to Colombia in the opening and failed to score at least one. Against Japan, their ability to shield their goal was quite more evident. Their Asian rivals found many chances to score a goal but Greece’s good defense and goalkeeping kept the deadlock for the full 90 minutes. For their last fixture, Ethniki should start capitalizing on their attack and further improve their fortification.

Ivory Coast

Les Elephants opened their campaign with a rousing victory over Japan 2-1. Bony and Gervinho offered excellent shots in the second half, with the former producing an equalizer to Honda’s opener while the latter delivering the decisive goal. In their next battle, however, Ivory Coast fell short of faculties that they lost all three points to Colombia. Genvinho did score another goal for his squad but it was Colombia—through Rodriguez and Quintero—who provided the match’s best spectacles.

World Cup betting tip: Ivory Coast will not waste chances and thrash Greece on a clean sheet.
