Match Preview: Zimbabwe vs. Mozambique

Match Preview: Zimbabwe vs. Mozambique

Match Date
: 08 September 2013 (local time)

Venue: Harare

Both Zimbabwe and Mozambique are already out of the World Cup qualifiers and are simply playing for pride’s sake. And in a match where honor is at stake, there is a high possibility for Mozambique to go emerge as the victorious ones.

Zimbabwe’s upcoming encounter against Mozambique is no more than a battle for pride’s sake. Given its current standing in the group stage of the World Cup qualifiers, their entry into the tournament shall be postponed for a little while.

The Warriors are currently occupying the last stage of the group. Even if they win all of their succeeding matches, such is a futile move due to its poor goal difference rate and aggregate scores as well.

Mozambique’s story is no different from Zimbabwe. Likewise, the squad is already out of the competition. The only thing that separates Os Mambas from the Warriors is that the number of points they have accumulated.

Recently, Mozambique’s encounter with Angola ended in a scoreless draw. The squad is expected to display a similar performance when they (compete) for World’s cup qualifying round.

World Cup betting tip: Mozambique to win by 1

Although both squads are already out of the qualifiers, a tight game is to be expected. Zimbabwe for one, has readily prepared for this match. The Warriors secured the assistance of midfielder Willard Katsande to aid the squad.
Nevertheless, if one has to compare their past performance, it is evident that Mozambique will more likely clinch the victory.
Throughout the qualifiers, OS Mambas have managed to secure 2 draws although it lost 3 of its matches.

On the other hand, the best the Warriors came up is a single draw. Four (4) of its last 5 matches were all lost.

If there is any importance that lies in this match, this has nothing to do with World Cup. Instead, it is more of a preparation in the ongoing African Nations Championships.
