FIFA U-17 World Cup Preview: Argentina vs. Canada

FIFA U-17 World Cup Preview: Argentina vs. Canada

Match Date: 25 October 2013 (local)

Match Venue: Al-Rashid Stadium, Dubai

Argentina

The current table leaders remain strong with no defeats to spoil their streak. The side have drawn with Iran in their curtain raiser, but went home victorious over Austria when the teams met in the second set of fixtures. The Europeans initially dominated the tourney, with Nikola Zivotic opening the scoring. On the 42nd minute, however, Argentina’s Joaquin Ibanez posted an equalizer for his team, which was later followed up by another goal by German Ferreyra. Austria’s Tobias Pellegrini netted a second goal for his troupe in the 79th minute, but only to be cancelled out by Leonardo Suarez two minutes before full-time. Argentina are quite frail in the defense, but their attack is impressively good.

Canada

Canada are yet to score a win in the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup’s group stage; but despite this fact, the team remain unbeaten. The Canadians have drawn in their first two matches in the round, which gave them enough points to rank second in the table. While this may seem fine, the results actually show lame showing from the side. Canada don’t have to play it safe just to keep them afloat from the bottom. A more aggressive approach toward the net should be encouraged in order for them to earn much more solid finishes.

Football betting tip: This tourney will give Argentina their second win in the group stage. Canada have a good defense, but it could easily be destroyed by Argentina’s powerful attacking talents.
