FIFA Club World Cup Morocco: Raja Casablanca vs. Atlético Mineiro

FIFA Club World Cup Morocco: Raja Casablanca vs. Atlético Mineiro

Match Date: 18 December 2013 (local)

Match Venue: Stade de Marrakech, Marrakesh

Raja Casablanca

Host club and domestic champions Raja Casablanca earned a second stellar win at the FIFA Club World Cup by scoring on stoppage time to defeat Mexico’s Monterrey 2-1 in Agadir, helping them qualify for the semi-finals.

Raja opened the scoring in the 24th minute, thanks to a goal from Chemseddine Chtibi. Monterrey sent an equalizer through defender Jose Basanta’s header seven minutes before the match’s first hour.

The level score in the match was broken after the fixtures’ two halves. Ivorian midfielder Kouko Guehi delivered with a stunning header from a corner kick five minutes into extra time, delighting the host nation’s fans and ultimately winning the joist.

Atlético Mineiro

Like anyone else in the team, midfielder Lucas Pierre Santos is excited to start their participation in the Club World Cup Morocco, particularly in the competition’s penultimate and final rounds. Ronaldinho is equally pleased, especially after he gained a much better form after joining the club, which led them to their first South American championship.

Atletico Mineiro landed on Morocco last week, and the Brazilian club have been training well ahead of their semifinal against Raja Casablanca. Ronaldinho gave spectators show-stopping skills during training in Marrakesh after the Brazilian linchpin exuded ridiculously stellar touches on the pitch.

World Cup betting tip: Raja Casablanca’s win over Monterrey was quite unexpected, but it helped them prove to the world that they have an untapped resource for some surprises. However, facing a gracefully in-form Atletico Mineiro could be a very cliff-sharp challenge. The hosts might earn a few very good goals, but the final scoring will eventually favor the Brazilians.
